At Birthwise, we’re about birthwork, not paperwork, which is why we’ve made the application process as straightforward as possible.
Our three-year midwifery program prepares students to be certified professional midwives. One hundred percent of our graduates pass the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) exam that qualifies them to practice midwifery in many states. Apply to our campus study or remote learning midwifery program using one, simple application.
Our 16-month midwifery assistant program prepares students to work with midwives and clients in various capacities including as a birth assistant or as a doula. The program also covers belly casting, childbirth education, placenta encapsulation, lactation support, and more. We are waiting for approval from the Midwifery and Accreditation Education Council (MEAC) to begin this program.
Our weekend-long doula training workshop, led by Tara Campbell of Birthing Gently, prepares students to become Doulas of North America (DONA) certified doulas. Our day-long postpartum doula intensive helps certified doulas expand their skill sets into postpartum care. There is a separate registration form for the workshop and the intensive. See more.
Our engaging continuing education classes, taught by Birthwise faculty and other qualified birthworkers, are open to the general public. For certified midwives, these classes count toward your North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) continuing education credits. We hold different continuing education classes each semester.
