Birthwise Midwifery School is a three-year school founded in Bridgton, Maine in 1994. Built on the principles of female empowerment, natural birth, and skilled professionalism, it offers one of the first comprehensive training programs for direct-entry midwives in the United States. The program is accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council and licensed by the Maine Department of Education.
During the event, visitors will meet with Birthwise staff, faculty, and current students and spend a day as a Birthwise student.
The DONA International Birth Doula Workshop is a sixteen-hour workshop that introduces students to the knowledge and skills of the professional birth doula.
This program consists of two years of rigorous academic study in Bridgton, Maine, followed by a year long clinical with an off-site preceptor of the student’s choosing.
